Scarlett Johansson mixes undeniable acting talent with wit and wisdom
beyond Scarlett Johansson's years to create a truly atypical appeal. We
especially admire Scarlett Johansson's well-deserved self-confidence and the
wide range of challenging roles, which, as a result, Scarlett Johansson has
successfully taken on.
After Scarlett Johansson's role in Robert Redford's The Horse Whisperer (1998),
the teenaged Scarlett landed one plum part after another in movies like Ghost
World (2000), The Man Who Wasn't There (2001), Lost in Translation (2003), Girl
with a Pearl Earring (2003), and The Perfect Score (2004).
A thoroughly urban young woman, Scarlett Johansson knew she wanted to be an
actress at age 3, and Scarlett Johansson made that wish a reality only five
years later. After an off-Broadway debut and several film roles, Scarlett went
on to win a Hollywood Reporter YoungStar Award for Scarlett Johansson's work in
The Horse Whisperer.
More recently, the ever-confident and uniquely gifted Scarlett has been named
Breakthrough Actress at the 2003 Hollywood Film Festival's Hollywood Awards and
Best Actress in a Leading Role (Lost in Translation) at the 2004 BAFTA Awards.
Scarlett Johansson was also nominated for two Best Actress Golden Globes for
Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring.
